About this product
The Dormer E500 is a set of three HSS coarse metric taps in M16 x 2mm, with a 6H tolerance to ISO 529 and a bright surface finish. The straight flute design suits both hand and machine use, and is suitable for through or blind holes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
The set comprises the three taps needed to complete a thread progressively - taper (first), intermediate (second) and bottoming (third or plug) - identified by chamfer numbers 1, 2 and 3. For blind holes, straight flute taps should be used as a set to achieve a full thread to the bottom of the hole. Overall length is 102mm.
