About this product
The Dormer E500 is a set of three HSS straight flute taps for cutting metric coarse threads (M3 x 0.5), suitable for general-purpose threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The straight flute design gives effective chip removal for smooth, accurate threading, and the taps can be used by hand or in a machine.
The set comprises taper (first), second (intermediate) and bottoming (plug) taps, allowing through or blind holes to be tapped; for blind holes, all three should be used together. Made to ISO 529 with a 6H tolerance and a bright surface finish, overall length is 48mm.
