About this product
The Dormer E500 is a set of three HSS straight flute taps for cutting metric coarse threads, size M5 x 0.8mm. Suitable for hand use or machine tapping, they work on a range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, tapping both through and blind holes.
The set comprises the taper (first), second (intermediate) and bottoming (plug) taps, allowing progressive thread cutting particularly useful for blind holes. The straight flute design aids chip removal for accurate, smooth threading, with a 6H tolerance and bright surface finish to ISO 529.
