Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus Translucent Woodstain in Ebony is a low build, solvent-borne semi-gloss woodstain supplied in a 1 litre size, suited to smaller projects or maintaining previously treated timber. The deep Ebony shade gives a dark, translucent finish that still allows the natural woodgrain to show through.

It works as both a base stain and finishing coat, protecting against mould, algae, UV radiation, peeling and cracking, while remaining microporous and water-repellent. As a finishing coat it suits exterior softwood and hardwood such as cladding, fascias, soffits and fencing. As a base stain it absorbs readily into timber, providing a sound foundation for further coats.

It can be used alone on cladding, decking and garden furniture, or as a base before Cetol Filter 7 Plus or Cetol THB Plus on windows and doors. It should not be used alone as a finish for hardwood timbers.
