About this product
Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus Translucent Woodstain in Mahogany is a low build, solvent-borne semi-gloss woodstain that can be used both as a base stain and as a finishing coat. Supplied in a 1 litre size, it gives a warm reddish-brown tone while remaining highly translucent, allowing the natural woodgrain to show through.
It protects timber against mould, algae, UV radiation, peeling and cracking, and its microporous, water-repellent formulation lets timber breathe. It suits exterior softwood and hardwood surfaces such as cladding, fascias, soffits, rough sawn timber and fencing.
It can be used alone as a complete system on cladding, decking and garden furniture, or as a base stain before applying Cetol Filter 7 Plus or Cetol THB Plus on windows and doors. It should not be used alone as a finish on hardwood timbers.
