About this product
The Dormer E500 is a taper hand tap for producing metric coarse threads (M4 x 0.7) with a 6H tolerance. Made from high-speed steel, it is suited to a range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
Its straight flute design gives good chip clearance for both hand and machine use, and it can be used to tap through or blind holes. For blind holes, it is intended to be used as part of a set alongside second and bottoming taps to complete the thread.
Overall length is 53mm, with a bright surface finish.
