The Dormer E500 is a metric coarse straight-flute tap made from high-speed steel (HSS), suitable for hand or machine use. It is versatile enough to cut threads through or into blind holes in materials such as steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, with the straight flutes aiding chip clearance for smooth, accurate results.
This is the bottoming (plug) tap in a set, typically used alongside taper and second taps when threading blind holes. It measures M5 with a 0.8mm pitch, 58mm overall length, to ISO 529 with a 6H tolerance and a bright surface finish.
