The Dormer E500 is an HSS straight flute tap for cutting coarse metric threads, size M5 with a 0.8mm pitch, right-hand thread to ISO 529 with 6H tolerance. As the 'Second' in a set, it follows the taper tap and precedes the bottoming tap, making it suited to blind or through holes where full thread depth is needed.
Straight flute taps of this type can be used by hand or in a machine, and are versatile across steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The design gives effective chip clearance for smooth, accurate threading, while the HSS construction and bright surface finish provide durability and wear resistance for repeated use. Overall length is 58mm.
