About this product
The Dormer E500 is a coarse metric HSS tap with a straight flute design, suited to general-purpose threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The straight flutes aid chip clearance for smooth, accurate threads and allow the tap to be used by hand or in a machine.
This is a bottoming (plug) tap, typically used as the third tap in a set alongside taper and second/intermediate taps when working blind holes. Sized M4 x 0.7mm pitch, it is a right-hand thread to ISO 529 with 6H tolerance and a bright surface finish.
