About this product
The Dormer E500 is a coarse metric HSS tap with a straight flute design, suitable for hand use or machine tapping. It works well across a range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, cutting M6 x 1mm threads to 6H tolerance.
This is the Second tap in a set, used after the Taper (First) tap when forming threads in blind holes, where straight flute taps are typically used as part of a matched set of three (Taper, Second and Bottoming). The bright-finished HSS construction gives durability and wear resistance for repeated use.
Overall length is 66mm, made to ISO 529.
