About this product
The Dormer E500 is a coarse metric taper tap made from high-speed steel, suited to general-purpose thread cutting by hand or machine. It works across a wide range of materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, and can be used to tap through or blind holes.
Its straight flute design gives effective chip clearance for smooth, accurate threading. As a taper (first) tap, it is intended for starting a thread and is often used as part of a set with intermediate and bottoming taps for blind holes.
Specification: M8 diameter, 1.25mm thread pitch, overall length 72mm, right-hand coarse thread to ISO 529, 6H tolerance, bright finish.
