The Dormer E500 is a metric coarse straight flute tap made from high speed steel (HSS), suitable for general-purpose threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. This is the M8 x 1.25 Second tap, part of a set typically used with a Taper (First) and Bottoming (Third or Plug) tap for producing threads in blind holes.
Straight flute taps can be used by hand or in a machine, and are versatile for tapping through or blind holes across most materials. This tap has a right-hand thread, a 6H tolerance (Class 2 fit), a bright surface finish, and conforms to ISO 529. Overall length is 72mm.
